Michael is a professional chef who has had a passion for mushrooms since he was very young. He began growing them himself in a makeshift greenhouse in his living room. He met two entrepreneurs, Graham and Jimmy, and they launched Les 400 pieds de champignon in 2018.
It is in a 400 square-foot location in the Côte des Neiges region of Montréal that Michael, Graham and Jimmy began their business of growing mushrooms and fine mushroom products. In less than three years, demand exploded and the trio moved into a larger space, enabling them to produce 10 varieties of local mushrooms. It is thanks to Michaël's culinary talent that his little wild gems are transformed into decadent gluten-free and vegan mushroom-based gourmet products. Today, Les 400 pieds de champignon offers a wide range of products including sauces, oils, marinades, broth, even coffee and mushroom chocolate.
