What is the brand's mission?

Here at Locaal, we want to nourish and nurture a love of local products among people of Quebec.

Do I need to subscribe to order?

We currently offer a subscription-free formula for ready-to-savour meals. You can feel free to order whenever you like

Do you offer a vegetarian or vegan menu?

At least two vegetarian or vegan meals are included in our menu each week. And they are simply delicious!

How do I reheat the meal?

Our meals can be heated in both a microwave oven and a conventional oven.

Microwave oven: remove packaging, place meal in microwave oven (with the film*) and heat for two minutes.

Conventional oven: preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and remove the meal's packaging. Place the meal container in the oven (with the film*) and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

*When heated, the film swells to conserve heat, without drying the food. The film has been designed to withstand heat and is safe to use.

How many meal portions are there in a container?

Our meal containers contain one 400-gram portion; which is an ideal and satisfying serving size for an adult.

How long will the meals stay fresh in the fridge?

Since the meals are vacuum sealed, they will keep for up to 6 days in the refrigerator! You can also freeze them (before the best before date) for up to 6 months.

Where can the meals be delivered?

We deliver in all main regions of Quebec. Stay tuned for details regarding delivery outside our current delivery areas. We invite you to check whether your address is located within our delivery area at the bottom of this page.

Can I pick the delivery time?

Yes, you can choose the day of the delivery to suit your busy schedule; from Tuesday to Friday: 12 to 7 p.m.

Are the delivery box and meal containers recyclable?

Our delivery boxes and meal containers are fully recyclable. To recycle the meal container and film, simply rinse them and place them in the recycling bin. In addition to using recyclable materials, our trays and packaging are made in Quebec, which we are really proud of!

How does the rewards program work?

You accumulate points each time you order. Earn one point for each dollar you spend. You can redeem your points for any item from the Locaal Collection.

What do I do if my box is damaged?

Your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us; we invite you to contact our customer service if your box is damaged or for any other issue.

In which areas is carbon neutral delivery available?

To benefit from the carbon neutral bike delivery service, your delivery address must be located inside the area serviced by our delivery partner Courant Plus. The area mostly encompasses Montreal's downtown core, but for more details, please refer to this page to find out whether your delivery address is included. Perhaps your workplace is located inside this zone?

What do I do if I have allergies or dietary restrictions?

We have an allergen management procedure in place and we regularly test our recipes for allergens. The list is available on each meal sheet, as well as on the meal packaging.

What precautions have been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

We follow rigorous manufacturing practices, in addition to implementing preventive measures in the workplace, such as mandatory hand washing and the wearing of a face mask and face shield, to comply with all required health recommendations issued by the regulatory authorities.

Does your facility meet food safety standards?

Our factory kitchen operates under the strictest food safety and quality programs. Food quality and safety are a priority on which we do not compromise. We are currently applying the HACCP standards that allow us to identify, evaluate and control significant food safety hazards. In addition to applying these standard, we are in the process of obtaining SQF certification, a standard recognized worldwide in the food industry and which requires a reliable and rigorous food safety management system.
