Supporting local producers
The beekeeper’s smooth honey, the exceptional flavours of Quebec-produced saffron and nuts, the unequalled freshness of garden fruits and vegetables… It would be a shame to have to miss out. Eating locally allows us to not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also to support local producers. They have been chosen for their passion, their commitment and the remarkable quality of their products.

Long live the short food distribution circuit
The majority of fruits and vegetables travel 3,000 to 5,000 kilometres. At Locaal, we encourage the short circuit by reducing the number of intermediaries between the product and the plate as much as possible. Buying short-circuit products means choosing a sustainable and inclusive economy.

100% recyclable containers
The Locaal meal container is made in Quebec from recycled plastic. It can withstand heat and cold so you can freeze your meal, if needed, thus preventing food waste. All our containers, including the delivery box and its insulation material are 100% recyclable.

Supporting responsible businesses
Local purchasing is at the core of our business model. It defines all the products we offer, which are developed in harmony with the changing seasons that shape the Quebec terroir. It also defines our partnerships with our various suppliers, whom we carefully select based on their values and social involvement. As such, we are proud to entrust Kotmo, a company specialized in the creation of locally-produced and eco-responsible items and LOOP Mission, a circular economy project that aims to reduce food waste by repurposing the outcasts of the food industry.
